Students' reflections
Economics was once thought as an entirely new and unfamiliar subject for me, but that was until we delved deeper into the subject as time progresses. In NYJC, I'm grateful for tutors who dedicate themselves to helping us better understand this subject, through their lectures, tutorials as well as consultations which were made as comprehensive as possible. Apart from all that, they had even gone the extra mile to organise activities such as the Economics Week which involves programmes including the exciting Financial Literacy board game, just so as to stimulate interest in students and widen their knowledge on this subject. Being able to receive all these support, I have finally understood how Economics is closely tied to our lives, and definitely present in our everyday living. This provides me a sense of meaning as to why I should and have to study it here in NYJC, which makes my learning journey much more fulfilling.

Although Economics seems like a foreign subject at first glance, it is actually something that is very relatable to our lives. Throughout the last 5 months of studying Economic, I have learnt to not think of it as "another subject to mug relentlessly", but rather, something that will aid me in my choices in the future. Perhapes it is because I am a student who learns best when I am able to apply a theory to real-life situations. As someone who is involved in the current affairs of the country, understanding topics like inflation and unemployment help me understand and even evaluate the policies that the different governments have implemented, and why they are unable to "please everyone". I hope to be able to expand my knowledge and continue to appreciate this topic in the upcoming future.
